A veteran health systems strategist, Marla Krakower provides leadership for home care modernization. Through her work, she has established collaborative planning tables with key health system stakeholders to enable innovative home and community care delivery models within Ontario Health Teams. Her portfolio includes a far-reaching change management plan to prepare leadership, staff, partners, as well as patients, families and caregivers for the future of home care delivery, while safeguarding the uninterrupted delivery of high-quality care. By executing robust communications and engagement strategies, Marla empowers the voices of patients and family advisors, ensuring representation from diverse communities. Through extensive engagement in developing our mission, vision and values, she upholds our role as a pillar of the health care system, and ensures our commitment to equitable, inclusive health care delivery that meets the needs of Ontarians. 

Marla has extensive leadership experience within the Ontario government having worked for multiple ministries, including Health and Long-Term Care, Government Services, and Community and Social Services. With over 15 years at the executive level focused on strategy development and implementation, Marla is poised to help transform home care delivery and support a more integrated and effective system. As Vice President, Health System Strategy, Integration and Planning for the Central West Local Health Integration Network, she led regional transformation and change management strategies, and enabled a seamless transition to Ontario Health. Instrumental in leading pandemic response initiatives, including establishing regional human resource and communication planning tables with health system partners, Marla also facilitated collaboration and coordination of COVID-19 response efforts.  

Marla holds a Masters of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto and has numerous leadership certifications from the Rotman School of Management. She lives in Toronto where she has volunteered on Boards supporting vulnerable youth and employment for new immigrants. 

A strong home and community care system has never been more critical. Looking ahead, we have a tremendous opportunity to modernize home and community care and support the development of Ontario Health Teams to create an integrated, positive patient experience.
